16:25 Westbury to Swindon due 17:08
16:25 Westbury to Swindon due 17:08 will be cancelled.

This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Additional Information
Customers at Westbury and Trowbridge travelling to Chippenham or Swindon should travel on the 16:40 Gloucester service (16:46 from Trowbridge) and change at Bath Spa for the 17:45 service to London Paddington which calls at Chippenham (17:56) and Swindon at 18:10.

A Pewsey Vale coach has been arranged to run in place of this train service from Westbury to Chippenham, calling at Trowbridge and Melksham. Please check the stations Onward Travel Information poster and wait for the replacement road transport at the designated stop.

17:36 Swindon to Westbury due 18:17 will be cancelled.

This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Additional Information
Customers at Swindon and Chippenham travelling to Trowbridge or Westbury should travel on the 17:33 Taunton service from Swindon (17:45 from Chippenham) and change at Bath Spa for the 18:03 service towards Weymouth which calls at Trowbridge (18:25) and Westbury (18:32). Tickets routed via Melksham will be accepted via Bath Spa.

Customers travelling to Melksham should change at Chippenham.

A Pewsey Vale coach has been arranged to run from Chippenham to Westbury calling at Melksham and Trowbridge. Please check the stations Onward Travel Information poster and wait for the replacement road transport at the designated stop.

If you were hoping to get the 16:25, into Swindon at 17:08, you'll get there instead at 18:10 - 62 minutes late.  I note they're not talking about ticket acceptance in that direction, but I suspect they would accept a "via Melksham" ticket in practice.

If you were hoping to get the 17:36, into Westbury at 18:17, you'll get there instead at 18:32 (15 minutes late) if you arrived early enough at Swindon to catch the train that normally runs ahead of the cancelled one.   If you are one of these people who arrives at the station last minute, you would not get to Westbury until 19:04 - that's 47 minutes late.

06:34 Salisbury to Cheltenham Spa due 09:03 will be terminated at Gloucester.
It will no longer call at Cheltenham Spa.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Yes, that DOES run via the TransWilts line ... the number of passengers remaining on the train at Swindon is relatively few (lots off and on there while it reverses).  And there's another Gloucester - Cheltenham service about 20 minutes later.

Hugely appreciate the extra passenger-friendly data being provided, but one cheer not three - really the trains should be run, eh, and not so frequently cancelled.

Noting that Swindon arrival for diverted passenger is an hour and six minutes after the schedued train time, and the Westbury arrival is 37 minutes after the scheduled train time - these delay on a journey which normally takes no longer than 45 minutes.

Good. Two cheer not three level - still put people who are flagged up on changes, or happen to have checked ahead (as recommended by GWR (Great Western Railway)) off using the train.

While it was cancelled, I was picking up on

and mapping the advice.

Arriving from the town on foot (marker 1) people go to the platform (marker 2) to find the train cancelled.  They go out into the pick up and drop  off car park to check on the whole-station (not just platform) screen (marker 3) - reported as working again yesterday after 3 months out of order and are redirected to the onward travel poster (marker 4) which tells them where the bus will call (it's marker 5).

Very silly suggestion scenario - I'm sure no-one will do that.  But a bus stop flag on the rail replacement bus stop that SAYS "Rail replacement buses call here" would be really useful.  There has (sporadically) been an onwards travel poster in the pickup / drop-off car park (not sure if it's there at the moment), and a timetable near the station gate too ...

In that case, should it not be "due to a lack of shortage of train crew"? Or even "due to fewer train crew being unavailable than usual"?

16:03 Swindon to Westbury due 16:45 will be cancelled.
This is due to a derailment within the depot.
Additional Information
Following repairs needed after a low speed derailment of an empty train at Fratton depot on Wednesday night, a number of our trains have been unable to leave the depot. This has meant that some services these trains should have operated have been unable to run.

A Pewsey Vale coach has been arranged to run from Swindon to Westbury calling at Chippenham, Melksham and Trowbridge. Please check the stations Onward Travel Information poster and wait for the replacement road transport at the designated stop.

Customers tickets will be accepted to travel by train via Bath Spa, however owing to a reduced train service between Swindon and Bath Spa today it may be quicker to travel on the replacement bus service.

Reminds me of the o-l-d graphic we had of train journey times v bus journey times.  45 minutes by train v 90 minutes by bus, even when the bus is not routed and stopping to pick up and drop off people between stations.
