Hi all, I was wondering if the Kennet day ranger is still valid for travel on the Reading-Basingstoke line? I have looked on a relatively old map not FGW (First Great Western) earlier Great Western Railway times it said it is. I looked on the present day map and it doesn't say. Please could someone shed some light on this?

The definitive source for ticket validity is National Rail Enquiries. Their page for the Kennet Day Ranger includes a map which shows Reading to Basingstoke is valid with said Ranger.

https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/pr0ecaa40a04000201f7417ef373fa12.aspx

I've attached a .pdf of the map too.

That is correct however the prices for rovers and rangers on National Rail Enquiries are out of date and have not been updated for a while.
Not sure if the GB (Great Britain) rail rover guide has been updated for yesterdays price increase but it is more up to date.

Don't Rover prices go up at a different time of year?  I recall May and September change dates.

BR (British Rail(ways)) Fares - Rovers & Rangers is up to date

https://www.brfares.com/!info?type=rover

Edit to add 'url tags' around the web address so that it links direct to that page.  An "unintended feature" (bug) in the forum software thinks that links end at '!' characters unless explicitly told.  Link now goes where you intended - grahame

Whilst NRE(resolve) is the definitive source for validities and other T&Cs, I make no claims for its pricing accuracy!  Grin
