From Option 24/7

Quote
The Option 24/7 team is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: Option 24/7 - Buses Back Better, UK (United Kingdom) - Wiltshire - Melksham
Time: Mar 29, 2021 06:30 PM London

The Government has announced the biggest change to English bus operation since deregulation in 1986, including funding, and has given the community a new role in planning what is needed. At this Zoom meeting, our team will fill you in on our initial work in understanding the new direction, and look at forward to what might be achieved and when. There are some tight timescales, and some significant opportunities. See http://option247.uk where we are updating pages dynamically.

Meeting code and updates will be added to this thread and the site linked in the next few days, and I'll be facilitating the meeting.

"Buses Back Better" covers the whole of England and so our analysis will be of general interest.  We will then drill down to some specific possibilities - firstly looking to Wiltshire, then to the natural area economic area of the north and west of the county that is co-joined to Bath and Bristol, then to Melksham.  These examples may be of wider use too - all welcome.  We will look to conclude the meeting in working out how we will best more forward to fill the new role in a positive and partnering way working with operators and local government towards mutual objectives.

Meeting Agenda and Zoom code at http://option247.uk/diary.html . Anyone who knows about buses is welcome - though we anticipate a busy meeting and won't be able to take extensive excursions into services outside the England (general) Wiltshire (Regional) or Melksham (local example) topics.  We do look to help inform others too and set forward positive routes for better buses - not just "back" but better than they ever were??

Wasn't planned but you are not the first to ask.   I promised comprehensive notes; may see what I can do for a recording.
