We pleased to present a unique day tour to Cornwall the land of myths and legends on board the ‘Midland Pullman’ – With its rugged coastlines and quaint fishing villages you will savour some of the most unspoilt countryside in Britain, there is the opportunity to visit one of the three available stops for an afternoon break – either the bustling county town of Truro, or pretty St Ives, or historic Penzance. Highlights of the journey include the twisting scenic line around the breathtaking Devon sea wall at Dawlish – views of the Dartmoor National Park – the iconic Royal Albert Bridge spanning the River Tamar designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

06:00 from Eastleigh, back there at 23:05.
08:15 from Melksham, back there 20:35

A rare opportunity (ah, but it's fully booked!) to join a train at Melksham and travel far afield.  Also, I believe, the first call by an High Speed Train (HST (High Speed Train)) since the platform extension was opened which should make to work seriously better.

I will throw in a word of caution - would people PLEASE not do anything silly to see this train on the working railway.  By all means observe it from bridges and public footpaths off railway property, but please do not crowd the stations if you're not travelling, and don't dally on the public footpath crossing.

I'm not convinced the general public will be interested in this train. For most, it's just an High Speed Train (HST (High Speed Train)) that's been repainted.

I have to say, it looks jolly good to me and the tour mentioned above did sell out.  Apparently the seating is all of first class standard inside.  I think it could be a winner on lots of different routes.

I suspect it will work - a nice old train, luxury trip with pretty scenery to an interesting place.  Great day out to take Grandad on a treat for his 75th Birthday.   Not a 2029 hint to my kids.

Yes, to really get the idiots tresspassing with their cameras, stepladders and babes in arms it really has to be a steam train, ideally Flying Scotsman or Tornado.  There will no doubt be quite a lot of interest, but I doubt there will be too many trespass incidents.

Is there a Bank Holiday poll in this -

"please rank the following in order of poshness - Tornado, the Midland Pullman and Braunton

1 - Tornado, Braunton, the Pullman
2 - Tornado, the Pullman, Braunton
3 - The Pullman, Tornado, Braunton
4 - The Pullman, Braunton, Tornado
5 - Braunton, Tornado, the Pullman; and
6 - Braunton, the Pullman, Tornado"?

You've done the hard work in coming up with the six options ... please feel free to start such a poll  Cheesy ... it needs to be a new thread, but then add a link to it here.   See http://www.passenger.chat/24811 for suggestions on running a poll.
