Nothing new in this at all.

Please forgive me quoting out of context ...

Last month was the forum's quietest for quite a while and that's triggered me to take a look and wonder why.   And one of the things that strikes me is that my various rail news feeds / sources are quieter too, with few of the reports relating to the GWR (Great Western Railway) area.   Perhaps it's a case of "no news is good news", coupled with still very depressed passenger numbers and journey opportunities, and an exhaustion with the changes we have seen over the last 15 months to life in general.

I do keep an eye out too for the changing face of social media and other feeds / sources.  We're styled as a passenger and informed persons site, interested in current and future; there are other far more informed places if you want to find where a particular train or locomotive is today, or for booking specials.

Flagging up this thread as no more than a comment and watching brief (to some extent to let members know this has been noticed!) but constructive comment, further analysis, etc, more than welcome

Edit - typo correction

We all have work together to get posts/replys onto the sight, how ever small or insignificant  they may appear to be.

Yes - I think for my part the problem is I have been quite busy - which I am obviously not complaining about given the still semi-pandemic situation over here in France - and that has limited my ability to engage with the forum a bit. For example, I have quite a detailed reply to "Looking backward, looking forward" worked out in my head, but will I find the time to move it from there to the actual forum before subsequent posts make it less relevant?

Its also a case of prioritisation - For example, the spare time I had this weekend was spent on drawing up an Option 24/7 Draft Melksham Bus Map and Timetables.

I will say though that the quality of debate in my view has remained high, and I have enjoyed contributing recently as much as I ever have.

"Proof" as if it were needed that there's nothing like a good crisis at GWR (Great Western Railway) to boost forum and Facebook visitor numbers ...

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
