I noticed a few weeks ago that SWR» guards were managing to blow their whistles without removing their face masks. This confused me. I noticed it the following day too. How were they able to put the whistle to their mouth without me noticing, blow, then remove the whistle again without me noticing?
I then noticed the guard holding a red/orange object and pressing it to produce the whistle sound. I'm guessing it was introduced for hygiene reasons due to the pandemic. I've not seen a traditional whistle since.
Do any other TOCs▸ have this?
I think Southeastern are using them and possibly Southern on services that are not
