Bristol City Council's Corporate Strategy for 2022-27 is out for consultation:

Theme 6 - Transport and Connectivity - states:

Work in close partnership with the West of England Combined Authority to ensure progress on accessible public transport infrastructure, including additional Park and Ride facilities
and pressing for mainline electrification.

...and:

The MetroWest suburban rail scheme seeks to reopen old and open new stations as well as increase the frequency of suburban rail services. This includes exploring new stations at Constable Road, Ashton Gate, St Anne’s and the stations already planned as part of MetroWest which include Portway, Ashley Down, Filton North and Henbury.

Not quite sure how to interpret what Bristol City Council are saying here.
On the one hand, there is recognition of the call for these stations to be reopened and an acknowledgement of their potential value to Metrowest.
On the other hand, describing further actions here as "exploring" could mean anything, including doing very little.
Eager consultants may already be slavering at the lips with the thought of more feasibility studies.
