Due to an operational incident earlier today at Romsey all lines are blocked.
What's Going On:
Train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
What We're Doing About It:
We were informed of a train that developed a fault at Dean. Until this has been resolved, it will mean that all lines will remain blocked on this route until end of service.
Passengers are authorised to source taxis between Salisbury, Romsey and Southampton and claim the cost of this back through our customer service team.

This was additional to a track circuit failure at St Denys, flooding at Hinton Admiral and the Fratton depot mishap mentioned in another thread.

I can't see any more detail, but it appears that 2R58, the 15:58 Salisbury-Romsey-Southampton-Eastleigh-Romsey was delayed about 15 minutes at Dean, then terminated at Romsey 16:43. (i.e. missing Southampton, Eastleigh etc.).

At 17:18, a different unit departed for Salisbury. It had omitted its circuit of the Easteigh-Southampton-Romsey loop, presumably due to the track circuit failures mentioned above.

There appear to have been no further passenger trains departing Romsey for the remainder of the day, although ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) and other non-passenger trains have passed.

Does anyone have more info?

At one point yesterday there were 9 different issues listed on the SWR» (South Western Railway - about) network. What a mess.
