Hired in 387s

Hi all,

I've seen quite a few class 387s hired in from C2C and Gatwick Express on Reading-Newbury and London-Didcot Parkway stopper services. The C2C Class 387s seem to be more common on the Reading-Newbury stoppers. Anyone know why GWR^▸ are having to hire in 387s?

The root cause is the IET^▸ structure cracking issues, which Grahame didn’t mention.

I believe there are issues running the c2c versions in multiple with the other 387 variants operated by GW^▸ and Gatwick Excess, so they tend to be used singly on the Reading to Newbury route.

These are ex Gatwick Express 387 they are actually borrowed from Great Northern
