Please be aware that Points West (BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Breakfast regional news) may carry a piece tomorrow morning - 20.10.2021 - featuring 'yours truly' speaking up for the Bristol Temple Meads to Waterloo service, scheduled to be mercilessly culled without proper trial by the Department for Transport in December.

You would see my picture there ... I have just recorded a Zoom interview. I can take no responsibility for damaged caused to your television by my picture appearing.

You can mitigate the risk to the services by signing the petition at https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/598397 and further mitigate it by asking your partner and your neighbour to sign, and by writing to your MP (Member of Parliament) too.   Michelle Donelan, my MP, wrote to me yesterday "I have had a lot of correspondence from constituents about the rail service and frankly, it helps strengthen my case when arguing for a reversal of this decision."

Aww, and we've just bought a nice new TV!  We'll take the risk though!

Oh and I've just sent an email to my MP (Member of Parliament), she represents a Bristol constituency and so is fairly likely to want to speak up on the matter, being at one end of the route.

It could have been worse. At one point the item was going to include me as well

For BRISTOL  - also doing BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Radio Bristol live at 07:35.  Recorded for BBC Radio Wiltshire today for their early show.

Thank you for writing to your MP too.  The number of petition signatures for each MP can be seen at http://www.passenger.chat/petition.html  and judging by your comment on the MP's gender, you're in Bristol West, South or East.  In all three cases, there are well over 15 signatures on the petition in their constituency - a level (if  repeated nationwide) would make the petition a candidate for a written response.

Out of interest a full breakdown by constituency is available at http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/petition.html?answer=42
