in the Cardiff area being reported on Sky news in the early hours of Thursday morning with film footage.

Film footage is during day light hours,so I presume this occured some time on Wednesday.

Might be worth having a look at BBC1 Wales using Sky and Freesat at 06:25 06:55am and 07:25am etc.

Those things are the bain of the rail network. I hope Network Rail cut them up. Ideally, the irresponsible people who don’t tie them down should be sent the bill for any damage and disruption caused.

Interesting to see the rail worker poking the trampoline with a long stick. Is he concerned that it might bite ?

More seriously, I agree that these things are a menace, though not due to biting.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

It could give them a nasty bite if the OHLE is still live…

The highest point of the escaped trampoline looks to be well below the OHLE and therefore unlikely to be dangerous.

The trampoline has already proven its ability to be blown from a garden on to the tracks.  Perhaps it was considered that there could be a small risk of it being blown upwards again and into contact with the OHLE when removed?

Indeed. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.
