At the bottom of this site's main page, in the "Info Center" section, there is an entry for "Latest Post".

Is there a reason why this entry is often not the latest post? I realise that I can click on the "View the most recent posts on the forum" link, but it would be nice just to be able to see the real latest post at a glance on the main page.

I don't know why.  "New" report - I am keeping an eye to look for a pattern to allow me to give you an answer in due course.  Nudge me in a few days if I have not followed up further.

Thanks Graham. One thing that seems to affect it is whether I am logged in or not.

At the present time, if I am logged in it shows:

Latest Post: "Re: (Not always the) Lat..." ( Today at 15:46 )

But if I am logged out it shows:

I wondered about that sort of thing as it has to show the latest post on a board you can read - showing a frequent poster topic to a guest would be a security breach. However, there is more to it than that from the evidence.
