Also the route through the Severn Tunnel closed 1st to 10th July.  Paddington-South Wales services diverted via Gloucester and not calling Bristol Parkway.

This work could be affected by the possible (likely) RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers) strike & presumably be extended?

These and other infrastructure works will not necessarily be affected by any threatened industrial actions. Network Rail has a vast and increasing number of Consultants, Contractors, and Sub Contractors etc, many of whom use Zero hours labourers etc. with works overseen by Network Rail Senior Managers.
Because they wear NR» (Network Rail - home page) branded Orange HV does not mean they are directly employed by NR.
