I press the keys on my computer fairly hard, and some years ago the old chap in the office next door asked me to press them more quietly in the early afternoon so that the sound through the wall didn't disturb his naps.
I'm sure I wasn't pressing them too hard because I've never broken a keyboard.  Nevertheless I humoured him by easing my touch for a while.
