Also the route through the Severn Tunnel closed 1st to 10th July.  Paddington-South Wales services diverted via Gloucester and not calling Bristol Parkway.

This work could be affected by the possible (likely) RMT^▸ (National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers) strike & presumably be extended?

These and other infrastructure works will not necessarily be affected by any threatened industrial actions. Network Rail has a vast and increasing number of Consultants, Contractors, and Sub Contractors etc, many of whom use Zero hours labourers etc. with works overseen by Network Rail Senior Managers.
Because they wear NR^» (Network Rail - home page) branded Orange HV does not mean they are directly employed by NR.

Nothing flagged on National Rail - and no trains anyway today and tomorrow because of Industrial Action.  Perhaps it will be fixed with no extra cancellations needed?

There is a landslip at Lydney but with Gloucester Panel closed until Sunday morning, as Graham says, there are no services are booked to run through the area.  (Lydney is actually covered by Cardiff Signalling Centre - but there is no access from the east.)

All trains running between Gloucester and Cardiff have been suspended for the rest of the day after flooding caused a landslip on the line. National Rail say that the incident occurred between at Little Hagloe, near, Lydney, and all lines are currently closed.

"As a result, trains are unable to run between Cardiff Central and Gloucester until at least the end of the day," reads a post on National Rail's website.

Also:

A spokesperson for National Rail said that 1,000 tonnes of spoil fell during the landslip, meaning that the firm do not want to re-open the line tonight. Commuters are asked to check their journey before travelling tomorrow (January 15).

Delighted at the comment that commuters should check before travelling what is now today - Sunday.  A welcome admission that Sunday is now a part of the working week.
