Freedom of Severn and Solent

Quote
Travel in the designated rover area

The Freedom of Severn & Solent Rover provides unlimited use of all National Rail services on the map in the validity section.

Available any 3 days within a 7 day period.

Participating train companies
Transport for Wales; Great Western Railway; South Western Railway; CrossCountry;

It says "unlimited use of all National Rail services on the map in the validity section" which includes Southampton to Cosham, but it does not list Southern as a participating train company.  Isn't this contradictory?

Same comment applies to West Midlands Railway between Worcester and Great Malvern.

Yes it is contradictory, but it’s also been like that consistently, ie for quite some years.

It also doesn’t include the Fareham - Eastleigh line so does that mean tough luck if you happen to be on a GWR (Great Western Railway) service that normally goes that way?

Yes  Shocked

As the map is the definitive statement of lines, it would suggest the ticket is not valid in the Rhubarb Loop train, nor on trains from Westbury to Castle Cary that use the Frome avoided; you might suggest I'm being pedantic in that latter case, but the Weston-super-mare avoider IS shown.
