16:03 Swindon to Westbury due 16:44 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Sarcastic THANK YOU to GWR (Great Western Railway) - that's the return train at the end of the tour!

An informative half-tour, the start and end much messed about with by various cancellations of train services.

Three major teachable moments:

* You can never have enough community gardening volunteer groups: there's an opportunity for one at the station end of the underpass, where its spiral ramp circles a small grove of menacing undergrowth.

* Even with a crippled train service, the wide range of destinations of the passengers awaiting trains at Melksham.

* Exactly how bad the UK (United Kingdom) is at ensuring good walking links to stations from nearby new housing - this isn't peculiar to Melksham, but it's a good example of a place where one short path would greatly ease the walk to the station from new housing and from a substantial part of the rest of the town.

Melksham's station being reached from the town by an underpass with poor sightlines, it was good to see that three teenagers were apparently spending their entire Saturday in the underpass apparently ensuring that it was safe for everyone, passing the time by making use of the acoustics down there to experiment with farmyard noises (something that is in no way illegal).

Thank you Graham for putting this together.
