11:03 London Paddington to Newquay due 15:57

11:03 London Paddington to Newquay due 15:57 will be terminated at Plymouth.
It will no longer call at Saltash, St Germans, Liskeard, Bodmin Parkway, Lostwithiel, Par and Newquay but will call additionally at Pewsey, Westbury and Castle Cary.
This is due to the train making extra stops because a train was cancelled.

Does it REALLY take so much extra time to add three intermediate stops along the original route that the trip to Newquay has to be lost, or do I smell a convenient excuse?

Covering stops for the cancelled 10.36 Paddington to Paignton which was again cancelled due to traincrew shortage. Just like last year, the Paigntons are being regularly cancelled on weekends so cannot be relied on.

As for Newquay, both IC (Inter City) and local services have been canned during over the Jubilee weekend. Doesn’t bode well for the Summer.

It’s a shame a) we don’t have an archive of Journeycheck messages and b) the system can only show one reason per train.

First thing this morning the train was shown as cancelled beyond Plymouth due to crew shortages.
