From Journeycheck Delays to services between Taunton and Exeter St Davids
Due to a fault with the signalling system at Exeter St Davids some lines are closed. Disruption is expected until 09:15 08/02.
Train services between Taunton and Exeter St Davids may be delayed.
Additional Information
The track circuit which allows the signaller to safely see which trains are occupying different sections of track has failed at the western end of Exeter St David's station. This has locked a set of points into one position, meaning some trains can't switch between different tracks.

As a result, the number of available platforms at Exeter St David's that trains can use will be reduced from 6 to 2.

Services between Exeter Central & Barnstaple will start/terminate at Exeter St David's.

Services between Exmouth & Paignton will start/terminate and restart at Exeter St David's.

That's quite a truncation - only the first 3 minutes of 71!

Still very much worth flagging up - it may be only 4% of the journey time to many, but for those wishing to start their journey at Exeter Central and turning up at their usual time, it's 100% of the journey ruined.

Are services running on radio authorisation to pass the next signal, etc from control.  Where is 'control' for the wilderness that is West of Liskeard?

Bet the delays wouldn't have been so bad in and around the Thames corridor.

Not just cable theft. Drain cover theft in North Somerset:

Quote
Residents have been asked to come forward with information after a series of gully covers have mysteriously disappeared across North Somerset.

Close to 40 drain covers are reported to be stolen from Nailsea, Wraxall and Wrington in a three day period.

North Somerset Council has called for CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) or doorbell camera footage to be sent for use in an investigation.
