Already definitely going to Yorkshire in May - the small matter of a family wedding - so I would add Wales to the list, specifically parts of the north, as I have always fancied trips to the top of Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa and the Great Orme as well as taking in as many of the former slate industry narrow gauge lines as possible.

Even if the options are restricted to the UK (United Kingdom) only, I've already got a fair few places in mind.
Not least is to revisit Nottingham which I visited often as a child.....and now there's trams!
Heart of Wales and Cambrian lines feature rather highly in the rankings and the English/Welsh borderlands also beckon.
Now that I'm retired, I'm able to pounce on rail ticket advanced fare bargains more easily and Dorset destinations are in my sights.
