Too few to worry about.

A suggestion to add to your list. You have Ventnor on the list, how about dragging your electric bike out and see more of the old railways on IoW?

Get a ticket through to West Cowes (WTW) which will include the JetFoil from Southampton, which now has bike spaces. Then follow NCN 23 via Newport to Sandown. The only hill is the approach to Sandown, where the signage becomes a bit iffy and then down to the sea front if you want a paddle. You can continue along the coast to Ventnor, but the hill from the promenade to the station is steep. If you are really adventurous you can follow the old line to Wroxall which is the end of NCN 23. You can then cheat and fold the bike up and get the bus back to Newport, and West Cowes.

Some of the old stations and facilities are more obvious than others. Merstone Junction always intrigues me, did they really have trains that long on the IoW? Nice station house at Alverstone.

Some lovely thoughts there ... on the Isle of Wight I included Alum Bay and Ventnor as representative of the island but I have fond memories from Childhood of walking through the tunnel towards Ventnor West, and of climbing high on Boniface Down.    On the Isle of Man, just been there on a single visit and would love to go back.

Lincoln and Merthyr almost made my list - they would have been there had we expanded the list to 100; Brayford Pool and the Glory Hole are memories of Lincoln and I would welcome time there in a summer just to watch the people go by and such in the environment. Been to Barcelona and Corfu both this year - you will enjoy, LiskeardRich.  Blackpool was the only place we've visited that I've seen Lisa concerned for her personal safety - perhaps because I'm not in the habit of dropping her (or myself, I supposed) into potentially risky mixes.

24 (16 UK (United Kingdom), 8 Overseas). As a 'must go' repeat visit I would have to flip a coin between Rome & Naples. For a first time visit I will pick Ipoh (but only because it is pencilled inked in for next September!)

Like it ... yeah, an oversight, perhaps.   It's in the same "group" as Odessa where I want to go an spend some time when its practical and safe both to get there and get back.

37 for me - 33 UK (United Kingdom) and 4 overseas. The overseas ones are Barcelona, Catania, Latour de Carol and Palermo.

I've also passed through 2 other UK ones by train but not got out there to visit (Peterborough and Sugar Loaf).

25, I think. Got a bit confused by Seattle, as I read it as Settle - but I've been to both. I've also visited Montpelier and Montpellier (for completeness; the French one was OK but east west home's best).

Went to Berlin in '89. Air was crackling with excitement. Tried to meet a friend coming in from the east via the Trans-Siberian, in a bar at Checkpoint Charlie, at midnight. He'd read the timetable wrong, so we ended up hooking up at Bahnhof Zoo at midday the next day. Happy days.
