You could also ask why there is no shuttle service between Bristol and Chippenham? There must be an unreported issue between Bath and Chippenham as to why no services can run between these two stations and the Transwilts running between Westbury and Chippenham. |

You could also ask why there is no shuttle service between Bristol and Chippenham? There must be an unreported issue between Bath and Chippenham as to why no services can run between these two stations and the Transwilts running between Westbury and Chippenham. Depends what you mean by unannounced. There is flooding in at least two places on that route, but it didn't lead to any specific announcement since the trains it blocked weren't running anyway due to flooding elsewhere. |

17:50 Gloucester to Salisbury due 20:06 will be diverted between Gloucester and Trowbridge.
It will no longer call at Stonehouse, Stroud, Kemble, Swindon, Chippenham and Melksham but will call additionally at Bristol Parkway and Bath Spa.
This is due to heavy rain flooding the railway. 20:06 Westbury to Cheltenham Spa due 22:05
20:06 Westbury to Cheltenham Spa due 22:05 will be diverted between Trowbridge and Gloucester.
It will no longer call at Melksham, Chippenham, Swindon, Kemble, Stroud and Stonehouse but will call additionally at Bath Spa and Bristol Parkway.
It will be delayed due to the diversion and is expected to be 4 minutes late.
This is due to heavy rain flooding the railway. And from one of our regular users: Nice journey home by train. Due to all lines flooded west of Swindon have to go via Reading and then to Westbury. |

Latest update from JourneyCheck Cancellations to services between Westbury and Swindon via Melksham
Due to heavy rain flooding the railway at Chippenham all lines are blocked. Disruption is expected until 20:00 12/01.
Train services between Westbury and Swindon via Melksham will be cancelled.
Customer Advice
The local-stopping service between Swindon & Westbury is suspended due to flooding in the Dauntsey Lock area (east of Chippenham). We are sourcing road transport to operate, but this is still pending. As soon as we have confirmation of road transport, this will be published in online journey planners. It has reached Swindon and is now forming 2M30, the 17:35 Swindon-Westbury. I wish I knew what the train describers and announcements at Swindon said - the TIGER feed for Swindon didn't show this train as reinstated until the last moment.

Was the Penalty Fares poster up to date with new Penalty though?
It was current - I have just established that penalty fares go up on 23rd according to LNWR▸ From 23/01, Penalty Fares in England are increasing to £100, plus the price of the full single fare applicable to the intended destination.
Buy tickets via our website, ticket offices, ticket vending machines, or our app. A specific date in January that I had not previously been aware of - just knew the month. |
