An unusual entry on JourneyCheck today:

14:27 Hereford to Oxford due 16:28
14:27 Hereford to Oxford due 16:28 will no longer call at Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern and Malvern Link.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

10cars maybe with only one train manager until GMV?

All/any pax at HFD» (Hereford - next trains) into one 5car unit with TM(resolve), then non-stop to GMV to pick up second member of staff?

RealTimeTrains is reporting it as a five-car unit.

21:00 Worcester Foregate Street to Oxford due 22:30 will be terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill.
It will no longer call at Worcestershire Parkway Hl, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough and Oxford.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

Surely this is a cancellation of the service, in all but name?

Well, it wasn't terminated at Shrub Hill or cancelled.  The service ran as timetabled, and the same unit returned from Oxford to Worcester later as the last down service of the day

GWR (Great Western Railway) is apparently trying to rustle up some road transport to provide some kind of substitution, but how successful this is remains to be seen.

And now there's a line cancellation note : "Replacement road transport has been requested to operate in both directions between Hereford and Oxford".

Plus...

20:40 Great Malvern to Oxford due 22:22 will be reinstated and will now run as scheduled.

And the problems continue into Monday morning, with JourneyCheck reporting as cancelled due to repairs

05:10 Oxford to Worcester Shrub Hill due 06:15
05:23 Hereford to London Paddington due 08:24 [via Stroud]
06:35 Evesham to Oxford due 07:29
07:25 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington due 10:00 [via Stroud]
07:48 Oxford to Worcester Shrub Hill due 09:05

That leaves, out of Shrub Hill

    05:14 to Oxford
    06:43 to Oxford
    07:01 to Oxford ("halts train")
07:31 from Great Malvern to Oxford

RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) is showing both the 05:23 Hereford - Paddington and the 07:25 Shrub Hill - Paddington as operating, but as empty coaching stock.

It's as if we've time-warped back to pre-2011 redoubling style reliability levels

And the amount of concern this is to anyone in authority will be close to zero, I bet.  Stuff the passengers.  They're only fare payers, after all
