Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Totnes and Plymouth all lines are closed.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 10:00 01/01.

Customer Advice
We are sorry for the delay to your journey today.

Unfortunately a flood warning has been issued between Totnes and Plymouth. A water closure mark has been reached which means we are unable to run trains safely.

Replacement road transport is trying to be resourced but will be extremely limited.

Unsurprising given the Met Office yellow warning for rainfall for a great part of the SW region.

It's been especially wet today here in Plymouth.  Recently stopped raining but before then, it was throwing it down.  Likewise, not surprised.  At least it's good for the reservoirs.

Looks like the line reopened about 20:30.  At least one XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) has made it through with a special from Exeter on its way.

Not been on a train, but the roads around the Truro area for the last week have been risky, the amounts of standing water excessive and not in the usual places either. A good week or so without precipitation would help.
