A man was murdered with a metal horseshoe following a row over loud music on a train, a court heard.

Thomas Parker, 24, died after being hit on the back of the head at Reading station in Berkshire on the night of 30 July last year.

Just to complete the sad story Kirkpatrick Virgo was found guilty of murder and jailed for 21 years.

A friend today told me of a very similar case that happened to her now-husband some years ago on a London bus. Noisy music, polite request to turn it down, beaten up. He managed to remove his glasses first, his (then) mate stood by.
