Network rail have just put out a batch of Strategic Business Plans for CP7. They are not a fun read, unless you like wading through buzzword-infested boilerplate. But there are clues in there as to what NR» (Network Rail - home page) (head office and the regions) intend to do with the £40 million plus they've been given to play with.

This is the main page, with links to the national plan, and plans for each region and "function"; e.g. the Wales and Western Plan.

They call it plausible deniability ............... in other words "well we did not actually mean that" Grin

There are a whole lot of detail behind the NR» (Network Rail - home page) BP» (Beyond Petroleum (Former name - British Petroleum) - home page), there is a reduction in the level of funding a number of assets are going to be "sweated" for quite a few more years which my impact on reliability and performance.
