This will go on all day I fear, as it's absolutely torrential in West Cornwall presently and it's heading east...

Stagecoach supplied a double decker for a 0625am all stations to Exeter and a 0640 non stop to Exeter this morning. Doesn’t appear to be many other road vehicles although I imagine some might appear once school runs are out of the way.

Those are scheduled RRBs▸ due to scheduled ongoing overnight resignalling works.

This is an increasingly serious disruption to rail services on a key main line to a major city with no alternative rail route. Scouring away of riverbed material around the base of bridge piers by water action is usually rectified and prevented by the placing of a concrete apron/pad around the affected area.
Why this was not carried out at Brent Mill viaduct at an early stage / last summer, is a question for NR» and the EA ..it’s not as if the delaying tactics of Doormice and Badgers were relevant in the river.

Why has this problem only come to light recently. The railway has been there for a great many years and I don't recall problems previously. Also presumably nobody available to operate the crossovers at Aish which ought to have been controlled from Plymouth.

I thought the same earlier. However, here in the far West it's now stopped and beginning to dry up, with a forecast of occasional bursts of the yellow circular thing in the sky! So perhaps conditions at Brent will improve for a midday normal service.

Cancellations to services between Penzance and London Paddington via Plymouth Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Plymouth and Exeter St Davids some lines are blocked. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
The first West-bound through service is expected to be the 11:16 GWR▸ departure from Exeter St Davids to Plymouth
The first East-bound through service is expected to be the 11:15 GWR departure from Plymouth to London Paddington. - Please note that this incident does not directly affect local trains between Paignton and Exeter St David's via Newton Abbot. - Rail replacement coaches are operating Plymouth to Newton Abbot via Ivybridge and Totnes and vice versa. Change at Newton Abbot for local GWR services for Exeter St Davids.
An update will follow within the next 2 hours.

One train an hour last night in each direction suggests there has been someone at the crossings at some times

It’s an emergency crossover, it’s not signalled move so all movements need the authority of a pilotman.

Delays to services between Exeter St Davids and Tiverton Parkway Due to a speed restriction over defective track between Exeter St Davids and Tiverton Parkway trains have to run at reduced speed on the line towards Tiverton Parkway. Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 10 minutes. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
No Network Rail personnel/team available locally?

A crack has been found in the point work at Tiverton Loops.

Cancellations to services between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth Due to animals on the railway between Exeter St Davids and Exmouth the line is blocked. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 10:00 23/05. Customer Advice Animals are blocking the railway near Topsham. It is proving difficult to move them in a safe and humane manner, meaning we are not able to run any trains between Exeter and Exmouth for the time being.
Causing delays and platform changes as to where to put trains terminating early at Central. Also just seen this on RTT» 2T11 0920 St James' Park to Paignton This service is partially cancelled This service was cancelled between Exmouth and St James' Park due to a signal failure (IA).
It's all happening!

Reportedly a Swans' nest on the track!! Complete with parents and signets. When the driver tried to move them on, he was attacked!
