Divided HEX at Ealing Broadway this morning 23/1

My journey into PAD^» this morning was largely trouble-free apart from a speed check through Ealing Broadway where I noticed a HEX standing motionless and with the two halves divided from each other in Platform 3 (the Down Relief). Both halves were empty of passengers and as far as I remember one unit had its interior lights on and the other didn't. Anyone know what happened? The incident was causing quite a queue of trains on the Down Main, presumably the FGW^▸ stoppers were having to use that line.

Interestng suggests they must have routed HEX from Padd on Down Relief as there are no right hand crossing from Down Main to Down Relief until Southall West.

Must be back to normal now as both the next two Down Stoppers are show as on time at Taplow.

It may not have been split of an in service train, I think there must have been a failed HEX train which was rescued by another HEX unit as I passed OOC^▸ there was a 3 unit HEX train sitting in the exchange sidings between the Birmingham's and the depot an unusual place for a HEX train

It delayed my trains arrival by more than 15 mins (07:35 Furze Platt to Padd) the drive kept apologising but no reason was given

As per Electric Train, an empty stock HEX failed at Ealing, the other set you saw was rescuing it.
