The Coffee Shop forum has been offered another opportunity to host an online 'meet the manager' session.

This has been arranged for 14:30, when Daryn McCombe will post his initial responses to questions raised by or members - and he will then be available to discuss them, realtime live, in that session.

We on the admin / moderator team are looking forward to it - with thanks to Great Western Railway for providing this opportunity.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

It's in my linked entry to the Coffee Shop forum's diary, Chris - look up a bit.  Wink

Blimey!  You're keen  Shocked

Alright, then.  Having apparently set myself up for this one ... please send me, by personal message on this forum, any questions you would like to ask Daryn.

I will discuss all of them with the admin / moderator team here on the Coffee Shop, but please understand that we'll probably have to combine some of them into wider questions and / or make them more specific.  We only have a one hour window - but that should be enough to allow for a reasonable discussion of your main issues.

About a week before the actual online discussion on 3 October 2024, Great Western Railway will be sent our 'agenda' of some six or so particular 'questions' which we would like to be answered.  Daryn (and his team) will then be able to prepare his initial answers, and send them to us.

As soon as the online 'meet the manager' session opens, at 14:30, those questions and answers will be posted out on the Coffee Shop forum.  It will then be up to you, our members, to reply / refute / challenge anything there - realtime!

My colleagues on the admin / moderator team are looking forward to it.  Grin

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
