William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

He's waiting to see a hunt.
The Gresley D49 hunt class 4-4-0s worked the Harrogate line services until the early 1960s That looks like the Harrogate bay in the background.
