From Somerset LiveThe historic railway line which once connected Bath and Bournemouth is set to return to the spotlight 58 years after its closure as it features in a major new documentary, Abandoned Railways From Above , which launches on Channel 4 on Saturday September 21. A long article which doesn't actually tell the time it will be broadcast

Not a good start, with the commentator repeatedly mispronouncing the name of the city of Bath...

Other than that I thought it was an excellent programme - I certainly learned stuff I didn't know. Mods - You might amend the thread's subject - it's a series of 6 - "Abandoned Railways from above" - and I think I heard the announcement that next week's programme is around Oxford.

William Huskisson MP▸ was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830. Many more have died in the same way since then. Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.
"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner." Discuss.

For an episode titled "Somerset" it was a little saddening that a large section of the line through the county and several stations were not featured at all.
Disappointed of Templecombe

Finn would have been delighted to have been filmed from above ...

I didn't even need to set that post up: I just knew Finn would have already done it.

I also noted in the 'Somerset' episode that they spelled one place name wrong on the progress map. Midsommer Norton. Later on, the subtitles included "Blanford Forum". The town is Bland.
