A RAILTOUR TO THE REBUILT ‘EAST WEST RAIL’ LINK FROM BLETCHLEY TO BICESTER FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE 1990S FEATURING CLASS 33 CROMPTONS ON THE MIDLAND MAIN LINE AND CHILTERN LINE – AND MORE!

You asked and we listened, so we are proud to present a day venturing through the Home Counties behind a pair of Crompton Class 33 locomotives. Traversing the only recently completed East West Rail between Bletchley and Bicester, we travel through the site of Verney Junction, one time terminus of a London Transport Pullman service from Baker Street! Thereafter we cover lines much requested by Crompton followers – and by others! – the Chiltern Line and, following a reversal in the London area, the Midland Main Line. During the day we have also requested to navigate a number of loops and other sections of rare track!

The requested route (subject to confirmation) after Nuneaton is: Rugby – Northampton – Denbigh Hall Jn – Bletchley – Winslow – (Verney Junction!) – Bicester Village (break / rev) – High Wycombe – Neasden Chord – Acton Wells Jn – Hanwell Bridge Loop (rev) – Acton Wells Jn – Brent Curve Jn – Bedford Up and Dn Passenger Loop – Wellingborough Dn Goods Loop – Corby – Oakham Dn Goods – Melton Mowbray Dn Goods Loop – Leicester Up and Dn Slow – Knighton Up and Dn Goods – Nuneaton and as set-downs back to Bristol.

On board catering will include a buffet service, the Gricers Grill and a real ale and cider offering.
