Bus passengers could be left out in the cold during a planned upgrade of stops along a major route into Truro (link below.)
http://thisiscornwall.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=144125&command=displayContent&sourceNode=232510&home=yes&more_nodeId1=232470&contentPK=20793623

The work is part of Cornwall County Council?s efforts to boost bus usage ahead of the opening of Truro's park and ride scheme next month.

New shelters with seating and lighting and improved access for low-floor buses are being installed along the A390.

And stops along the park and ride bus route will also boast "real-time" information screens and distinctive new signs. It is hoped the multi-million pound scheme will cut traffic and parking congestion in and around Truro.

But the project will see stops left without shelters for several weeks after the old ones are removed and before their replacements are installed. The gap is being put down to the need for "preparatory work".

Evening

There is an interesting example at Perranwell
station, the bus shelter opposite to station
enterence.  If my memory serves me correct
(RichardB you'll be able to give better details),
I think was the first bus shelter in Cornwall that
is powered by solar energy.  Remember it being
mentioned at a 'working line commettee meeting'.

Regards

Karl.
