Five ways to avoid being ripped off on Black Friday
Make a list and stick to it
Compare historic prices
Search for second hand
Beware Debt
Check for scams

I will - almost certainly - be buying a pass for use next year.  It's on my list.   There's no "50% off to celebrate 50 years oF internal" but rather just a 25% sale which I judge to be unlikely to be bettered, though it may be matched.  I already have a second hand pass, but it's worn out and its "use by" date is passed.  I am aware I will spend far more in using the pass in places to stay and food more expensive than at home, but it is budgeted for and the card will be paid off before interest is due. Interrail's "Reservation fees" have become a bit of a scam - things like £39 for a reservation feels like a top up supplement, but these are things to factor in and often though not always there are slower more local trains available.

In my bucket for next year ... Turkey by train ... and I may look to complete the FEVE narrow gauge and spend longer in Portugal.  Harz system - more than just The Brocken. Narvik, the Loften Islands and Bodo.  Inner line in Sweden.

What is in your bucket?

Not so much a bucket but a couple of current favourites to try and get round to....The Glacier Express and Wuppertal Schwebebahn.
As for non rail but nevertheless transport related ambitions....a river cruise combining the rivers Rhine and Mosel and another on the Douro.

I've also given consideration to a 4 or 5 day in a month interail pass to visit a few cities in Europe.

Over the weekend - almost certainly two. One for myself and one for Lisa. Different durations, mine likely to be continuous and hers * days in * month(s). And, yes, while Lisa is travelling on her pass I will be with her.  I probably need to add that she is perfectly capable of travelling alone ... and indeed has done so ...
