1) On which date did Bicester Town station re-open, and by which name was it known at the time of its closure in the late 1960's?

2) According to the version of the DfT» (Department for Transport - about) franchise specification available to the public, how many services are required to call at Parson Street on Monday-Fridays?

3) Why does one of FGW (First Great Western)'s Class 143 units sport a plain blue livery, and what is its number?

More to follow once you've got these....

1) Bicester London Road was the old name. Was re-opened in 1987 but was used by some excursion trains before that.

I was asked this by FOSBR (Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways) the other day, so I thought I'd chuck it in. Anyone want to hazard a guess?

Correct. Re-opening date was 11 May 1987.

3) 143617 Got graffiti attacked and it was thought cheaper to relivery it in blue rather than Bristol vinyls.

Correct.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
