XC's First Class Complimentary Food Menu

Has anybody managed to sample this...!

I'm going to slightly critercise the Breakfast Menu...!

They have for Vegetarians (trout is Vegetarian Grin

) a Scrambled Egg and mushroom and I think (open for correction) Spinach Bap...! I'm sorry but I find it absolutely foul Roll Eyes

The Vegetarian Croquette was much better Grin

However having said that, I think the Cheese Ploughmans and Egg and Cress Sub's very good Grin

What are your opinions on the (in some cases) bizarre breakfast menu Grin

Does somebody in the know, know how often they change their menus...?! I know they change their offerings every week, but i'm on about the menu as a whole Wink

The spring rolls are nice, but hot! (I wish they gave out cutlery.) What got me was the small size. Angry

I sampled that on Wednesday and it was stone cold on the inside (barely lukewarm on the outside). So I had it reheated. Still, the menu might be poor but it is infinitely better than the FGW^▸ complimentary hot food menu.

First class service on the Virgin Voyager service onward to Glasgow was a bit better, but only in place as far north as Preston - not even half way.

What was also interesting was the difference between standard class in a XC^▸ voyager, and the equivalent in the Virgin Voyager. The latter was fully tabled with barely an airline seat.

I think there is only one coach like that, it is so they can use it as First Class on the Holyhead route if needed. The rest of the three standard coaches are basically as built.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. It looked so much better though than the normal standard configuration.

When I travel B'ham to London Virgin First Class, I'll get free alcohol, soft drinks and something equivalent to a FGW^▸ Travelling Chef sandwich (which you have to pay for on FGW).

I'll also have guaranteed InterCity standard stock.

All this for about the price of a Worcester - Oxford return standard class ticket!

Except the portions are normal sized not cook at home size!

The glass of pinot grigio is a thimbleful!

And - 1 sausage, a tomato, 1 egg, 1 bacon rasher and one rosti still only comes to about 7 weight watchers points - you could easily do it!
