On this page:

http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?action=login

there are 2 places one can log in. One in the middle of the page, and the other the "quick login" in the header area.

If I use the main login box, I get "password wrong". If I use precisely the same details in the quick login area, I am logged in fine.

Most odd!

Same thing happens to me, miniman!   Roll Eyes Grin

I rather think it's just 'a quirk of the software' - but perhaps grahame can expand on this?  Tongue

Could it be because you are logged in?

I know I'm logged in now, you cheeky monkey: I meant, it happens to me whenever I do try logging in using that page!  Wink Cheesy Grin

The problem is an odd / not obvious one.   I'm aware of the issue but it's one of those things where 'fools rush in' to apply a fix;  I've done some (more) investigation since seeing this thread, but haven't seen a complete pattern yet; sometimes it works, other times it doesn't, when you try to log in via the bigger box.

General advise ... use the "pagetop login" while the issue remains.  And note that this isn't something that I expect to cure at the click of the fingers.

I've noticed a weird issue that is 100% reproducible, for me anyway.

When logging into these forums via the login fields at the top of the forum list, if you enter in the wrong password it will take you to the Login Incorrect screen and invite you to try again. If you then enter in the correct password in the password field on that page it will again take you to the Login Incorrect page. If you however go back to the home page of the forum and login along the top, using the same (correct) password that you just typed then it will log you in.

Seems to be some sort of issue with that Login Incorrect page.

I'm running Windows 7 / Firefox 3.6 (two PCs) and will happily admit I haven't tested this in other browsers but it's definitely 100% reproducible on both my PC at home and at work.

Thanks for posting, bleeder4.

It is indeed a quirk / bug of the forum software: see http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/coffeeshop/index.php?topic=4786.0

My apologies - I really should learn to use the Search function.

Feel free to delete this, now redundant, thread.

No problem at all: I'll merge these topics, so the guidance is available to more recent arrivals on the forum!  Grin
