"Spotted" last night at around 19:00 heading North towards Chippenham through Melksham. Locomotive 08 711.  Anyone know what that was about?

Oh - slightly naughty question ... it was on a low loader on the main A350 road at the top of the station approach ... with timing like that on the rails, it would have run into the 18:45 from Swindon at about Lacock

More serious note ... I was meeting the 19:47 arrival from Westbury on Thursday, not really counting passengers but was struck by the numbers - it was a 158 (2 car) and certainly quite busy.  Didn't hand around for the 19:11 on Friday evening, so "no report" from me on that.

Rather bizarrely 08711 was the last loco that I overtook. It was last September on the A43 between Northampton and the M40 on a load loader that time.
