British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information after violent disorder at Bridgend rail station on Saturday, 30 January 2010.
Investigators have also released CCTV images of seven men that they would like to identify and talk to in connection with the incident, which took place around 7.15pm.
BTP officers attended Bridgend rail station following reports of disorder involving Cardiff City and Swansea City supporters on board the 4.45pm First Great Western service from London Paddington to Swansea.
Detective Inspector Mark Cleland said that two groups of men had been travelling on the service when, at approximately 7.10pm, an argument broke out between two men from rivalling groups.
^When the train arrived at Bridgend rail station the group of Cardiff City supporters alighted. In doing so, one of the supporters grabbed a man who was still onboard and pulled him off the train. A fight broke out on the platform, which resulted in a brawl involving five Cardiff City fans and four Swansea city fans. The fight ended when the Swansea city supporters re-boarded the train and the remaining Cardiff City fans left the station."
DI Cleland added: ^We have conducted a number of inquiries into this incident and hope that the CCTV images may result in members of the public recognising the men that we are keen to identify. I am certain that someone will recognise one or all of these men and am calling on anyone who does to get in touch with us. I would also like to reassure members of the public that while rare, offences like this are treated very seriously by investigators and we won^t rest until we have made an arrest. While the majority of football fans from Swansea and Cardiff are a credit to their clubs, sadly there is a minority who are intent on causing disorder in the name of football.^
