05/10/2007.

Heavy delays this morning, at 0830 there was no sign of the 0530 FGW (First Great Western) morning e-mail bulletin at my Inbox.

I have noticed however, that in the past few weeks, FGW must have leased a few extra fingers because some days I have seen up to three relief e-mails passing through my Inbox daily on both the up (morning) and down (afternoon) e-mail bulletins. Might it be that DaFT» (Department for Transport - critical sounding abbreviation I discourage - about) have found a some surplus fingers somewhere to cover for the FGW finger refurbishment program BEFORE it commences. Mind you I think their finger need it as the following item from this mornings listing of Service Incidents demonstates ;-

06:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 09:49
This train has been revised. It will additionally call at: Keyham, Oldfield Park, Freshford, Avoncliff, Bradford-On-Avon, Dilton Marsh, Dean and Dunbridge. This is due to an earlier train fault.

If you havent noticed it the finger is leaving out letters to recover time, Keyham  Huh

SO, does someone within FGW (First Great Western) actually read this forum, within 10 minutes of posting the opening gambit in this thread, the Service Incidents page on the website was amended and the  letters "n" and "s" were reinstated in the station Keynsham.

No sign of the 0530 e-mail bulletin however.

Someone must have got a drag on (tow) with the scheduled e-mail bulletin after my complaint that I still had not received it, it has now arrived, plus a relief.

The scheduled service arrived about 0925 having departed to Cyberspace at 05:48:06 and this was followed shortly by the relief having departed at 07:20:15.

The scheduled service must have broken down and was blocking the wire holding up the relief and there was no diversionary route.
