I've just added this topic to provide a natural place for questions on how to use this forum, tips and techniques, etc.

Oh good, I was trying to do that clever inserting a quote thingy yesterday. Wasn't sure how to, but didn't like to ask.

You've set me an immediate challenge there ... since as soon as I try to show you the extra tags they will come up looking like a quote!    There's a web page that I have on one of our other boards that covers most of the tags - see
http://www.wellho.net/forum/posting.html

If you just want to quote a specific post, use the Quote button rather than Reply and it will quote the whole thing for you.  You can delete bits if you want to quote only a part of the original, and add other end and start quote tags if you want to quote in bits with comments in between.

Thanks Timmer. If Graham ever gives up being a campaigner for the Melksham line he could become a trainer. He's quite good at it. Grin

You can find out more about how this forum works [here] - that will link you to a copy of the forum agreement that you can read before you join, and tell you very much more about how we operate. We are an independent forum, provided and run by customers of Great Western Railway, for customers of Great Western Railway and we welcome railway professionals as members too, in either a personal or official capacity. As well as posting messages onto existing threads, and starting new subjects, members can communicate with each other through personal messages if they wish. And once members have made a certain number of posts, they will automatically be admitted to the "frequent posters club", where subjects not-for-public-domain are discussed; anything from the occasional rant to meetups we may be having ...
