seeing it dominated by ranks of older men

There are some important issues in Rail User Group circles in relation to the demographic mix of the people who get involved, and whether they represent the people who use of want to use the service.

Why have you focused your attention on everyone's age? The majority of rail passengers - who really are under-represented in User Groups - are women.

Why have you focused your attention on everyone's age? The majority of rail passengers - who really are under-represented in User Groups - are women.

1. Because I already have much better data available to me on that

2. Because the numbers of men and women travelling on any particular is much more in propotion to the the number of men and women in the population as a whole than the propotion of 21-40 year olds to 61 and overs.

3. Because the differences in typical travelling habits are not so great, men v women to working v retired.
