My daily morning journey at the moment takes me from Thatcham (THA) in Berkshire to Reigate (REI) in Surrey. This has to be done in 2 legs, changing trains at Reading (RDG(resolve)).

To be fair the service from THA to RDG is normally pretty reliable, probably because it starts in Newbury which is not far away and is the first service of the day (0547 of THA). Normally this leg of the journey is also un-eventful unless there are some freight movements in the Theale area which can delay the service.

Although I could get a later service from THA to RDG catching the 0547 allows me some slack time in RDG . Also, thankfully the service from RDG to REI (which goes on to Gatwick) normally leaves on time. The only issue with the second leg of my journey is that some parts require the train to climb inclines and in the very cold weather this can be a challenge for the 3 car unit.

So all in all a fairly uneventful journey - but thats exactly how I like it!
