A report into a train derailment at Kemble on January 15 last year has found the accident was caused by debris left on the track after a wall collapsed (link below.)

The RAIB has made two recommendations as a result of the derailment, both relating to the management of wall structures and their infrastructure.
The inestigatory body will also hold a further investigation into the management of earthworks by Network Rail, specifically looking at the earthworks at Kemble.
