Well it's true that it was added to SEWTA's wish list in their last strategy report. But I have to say, I have a fairly good understanding of the railways and geography of the area, and until that report was published, I hadn't even considered the possibility. But maybe the population in those villages have grown significantly in the last decade or so.

Still, you've got to laugh, £1m they quote. That won't even reinstate the junction at Llantrisant which I believe was plain-lined a year or so back. (Can someone confirm?)

He said: “At the moment the line is just sitting there, an eyesore of a disused railway track, when it could be the ideal link for the valley.

“There is also ample ground at the old coal yard at Tynant for a small station to be built and sufficient space for a car park.

"Hmmmmmmm" say the planers as they draw up plans for a new block of flats apartments to sell for a million each!  Sad

Or perhaps "new dual carriageway coming soon - it is the department fro tarmac after all! Angry

I can't see this happening. Roll Eyes

Wales Assembly have control over railways in Wales - Department for Tarmac can't really interfere much to their disgust... trust me - they've tried and failed on many issues.
