When we got off our train (departed Basingstoke 1737) last night, there was 3 ticket inspectors at the end of the platform asking to check our tickets. Never come across this before, does any one know why? Also did they check all / some or just our train?

Ticket checks by revenue protection inspectors are generally random, and check all tickets for any irregularity.

It was just that train's turn to be checked!

Well, if my ticket for my homeward journey were ever to be checked (by ANYONE!) it would indeed be a cause for gossip?  I can't remember the last time it actually happened!

I look forward to seeing 3 RPIs at Nailsea & Backwell tomorrow evening, now I've posted this!  Wink Cheesy Grin

As per Tom, revenue protection teams like to block certain platforms now and then. Platforms 4a and b are popular to block Cheesy
