From the FGW website :

05:19 Gloucester to Southampton Central due 08:09
This train will run short formed with 1 carriages. This is due to a train fault.

This will in turn (one would assume) form the 0823 Southampton Central-Great Malvern service.

Frankly, that's more than enough capacity in a "153" at 05:19 from Gloucester / 06:15 from Swindon to Melksham and Trowbridge.   Let's face it ... the timing of that train don't exactly encourage its use (at least for our visitors):

Campaigning for an appropriate TransWilts service - it's madness to run just two trains a day on the line that links all the major urban centres in Wiltshire. [Read about it]

5h45 wait at Swindon isn't too bad - at least it's not like Wick where if you miss the 1600 you have to wait till 0600 for the next one ....  Grin
