How Many TOCs can you Remember?

Trying to remember which TOC tried to run Basingstoke to GEML it crossed my mind just how many TOCs have there been both current and dead?  I haven't a clue but thinking about it most have changed at least once and there around 20 plus franchises then 50 or so!

It provides an Interesting answer to the Wolmar question;

What are franchises for?

To distribute government subsidies around the bus and foreign rail companies.

Blimey!  Alphabetical order might have been useful - you've lost me a bit in checking all those references now!
