Choose Marketing words and names carefully - village, local, Melksham
This campaign tip (no. 26) was published on Saturday, 26th January 2019
You may consider your community to be a "village" but that means "small" to people looking on a national scale. That may not be the message you want to convey!
Some wording to be careful of:
Village - "Small", "Old fashioned" - so perhaps not justifying a great deal of public transport?
Local - "Short distance" - so perhaps best served by a bus rather than a train?
The Melksham line - "Just about the one town" - the description of the TransWilts as "the Melksham Line" encourages thoughts to be limited just to journeys to and from Melksham, whereas such journeys really only account for around 35% of passengers on the trains. Chippenham and Trowbridge are the two largest towns in Wiltshire ... and their direct train services are the TransWilts.

Our town is on a regional railway line ...
connecting the main Wiltshire centres of Trowbridge, Chippenham and Salisbury with Swindon and with the Southampton area
