That's the beginning, or at least an earlier stage. Scroll down for the car on the tracks. (Not worked out this Twitter lark, sorry>) Title: Re: car uses rail line to get away Post by: stuving on July 15, 2021, 19:11:30 There's a BBC report (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-57849890) now:
Quote A stolen vehicle was driven down railway tracks in front of stunned passengers to evade police in what a witness described as "like a scene from Grand Theft Auto". The black Land Rover Discovery was then abandoned on the track near Cheshunt railway station, Hertfordshire, having earlier sped away from a police stop. Two officers were injured in the incident, which saw one of them thrown from the car. A hunt is under way for the driver. It was abandoned on the railway line nearby, causing major disruption to rail services. BTW, I think that the DRIVER decided to use the railway line in an attempt to evade capture. I doubt that the CAR made this decision on it own. Self driving cars show some promise but i doubt that they are that advanced, yet. Title: Re: car uses rail line to get away Post by: broadgage on July 21, 2021, 13:57:38 Or perhaps the driver was following the new amendments to the highway code whereby yellow means "go faster"
And red means "go if it has only just turned red" And white zig zag markings on the road means "priority pick up/drop of zone for school run" And orange flashing beacons atop black and white poles mean "warning pedestrians in road. Increase speed to avoid them" Title: Re: car uses rail line to get away Post by: froome on July 21, 2021, 14:22:22 Or perhaps the driver was following the new amendments to the highway code whereby yellow means "go faster" And red means "go if it has only just turned red" And white zig zag markings on the road means "priority pick up/drop of zone for school run" And orange flashing beacons atop black and white poles mean "warning pedestrians in road. Also, could the moderators remove that incredibly annoying apostrophe in the thread's title, as I doubt that the rail line belonged to the car use.
